Italvibras – VU Series unidirectional mechanical oscillators

The Italvibras VU series unidirectional mechanical oscillators are designed for use on medium and large vibrating machines employed in numerous industrial processes. Design choices have significantly reduced noise levels and increased the durability of mechanical components, bearings, and gears, essential conditions for long-term reliable operation.

• Drive: The motion to the oscillator is transmitted by an external drive connected to the drive shaft via a coupling, generally a cardan joint (recommended). The external drive can be an electric motor, hydraulic motor, or other type, connected directly to the coupling or via belts and pulleys.
• Compliance with European Directives: Under the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, the VU mechanical oscillators fall under the definition of “partly completed machinery.”
• Operation: The VU mechanical oscillators consist of a housing (central body) where 4 bearings support two shafts synchronized by two ground helical-tooth gears. At the ends of the shafts, eccentric weights are mounted that rotate synchronously in opposite directions, generating a unidirectional resultant centrifugal force perpendicular to the oscillator’s mounting plane.
• Centrifugal Force: Up to 453 kN.
• Ambient Temperature: From -40°C to +70°C.
• Oscillator Mounting Position: The VU oscillators can be installed in any position, always with shafts aligned horizontally.
