Brahma – VM44 Series safety controllers for gas and oil burners

The Brahma VM44 flame controls for gas and oil systems are designed to manage forced-air gas burners or fuel oil burners for non-permanent operation. The VM44 flame control is equipped with a non-volatile lockout, meaning that from a lockout condition, the reset can only be activated through a manual reset. Among its many features, the ability to connect various types of air dampers, both from Brahma and competitors, for dual flame modulation stands out.
Another notable feature of the VM44 safety device is the ability to provide information about the type of lockout and the operating cycle.
These devices are suitable for equipping burners used for residential and industrial heating in single and dual flame mode.

FEATURES

• Type CE certification (CE PIN 0476CR0811) in compliance with the Gas Appliances Directive 2009/142/EC (until April 20, 2018) and the Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426 (from April 21, 2018);
• compliance with CE directives, Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC (immunity) 2014/30/EU, and Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU;
• compliance with EN298:2012 (European standard for automatic programming systems and flame detection for gas and oil burners), EN676:2003 (European standard for forced-draft gas burners), DIN 4788 (German standard for gas burners with fans), and EN60730-2-5 (European standard for automatic controls with Class C software);
• possibility of connecting remote lockout indication and reset;
• detection based on the rectifying effect of the flame (with electrode or UV emission detection using photodiode FD.. for gas versions VM44G);
• visible light detection (with photo-sensors such as FT.., FC.., or UV emission detection using photodiode FD.. for oil versions VM44O);
• two independent safety contacts for controlling the fuel solenoid valve;
• electrical life of the contacts at maximum declared load >250,000 operations;
• no limits on thermal capacity (timing and operating principles must be adapted to the application during its design phase);
• precise and repeatable setting times.
